Most search engines and search directories place a high level of importance on the title tag when determining what sites to index, since the title tag is what usually shows up for the title of your listing in search results. In addition, the title tag shows up in the top blue part of the browser window, and if users bookmark your site, the title is what usually shows up in the bookmarks.

1. Be creative. Brainstorm for the right words to describe your site, and use different titles for each page that reflect what that particular page is actually about.

3. Find your niche. Don’t target the exact same phrases that everyone else in your market is focusing on;  search out the key phrases that have a fair amount of competition, but not so much that you don’t have a chance to be found.

4. All titles should be typed in Title Case (or Proper Case).

5. Place your most optimized keyword phrases at the beginning of the title tag;this is just in case a search engine cuts your title tag off right when it starts getting good.
